Garlic Chives grow grass-like leaves that have a mild garlic taste. To best retain flavor, dry harvested leaves quickly. Leaves that have been chopped can also be frozen for later use.

Sow seed directly into the garden or start seed indoors 6 weeks before the last frost. Prefers well-drained soil in a sheltered area. After first season, clumps may be divided and transplanted. Harvest for fresh use anytime. Cut no more than half of the leaves to allow for further growth.
